About Us

Mission Statement

NCVCE seeks to improve the vitality of democracy in North Carolina by enacting a voluntary public financing program for state-level candidates who earn the public's trust. A Voter-Owned, Clean Elections program would encourage candidates to reject all special-interest donations and rely solely on voters for their support.

What We Do

NCVCE coordinates lobbying efforts and advocacy reforms for its allies and affiliates. We provide groups with speakers, research and literature on money in politics. We also coordinate leadership trainings and other programs with coalition partners that highlight how private money impacts politics.

Why Join Us

Issues like improving education, health care, and tax reform aren't addressed because campaign contributions dominate the political scene. Without your help, the soaring cost of elections will stop qualified leaders from seeking the most powerful decision-making positions in our state. Every North Carolinian should be able to run for office if s/he has community support. A system that places wealth above the rights of the citizens can be overcome with your help.
