Voting rights in North Carolina
are under attack!
Republican leaders in Raleigh promised a “new day” but, instead, they are taking us backwards. During the session that begins on July 13, efforts to suppress the vote and manipulate the voting process will continue to be front and center. Legislators will try to override Gov. Perdue’s veto of the photo ID bill (HB-351). In addition, they want to pass extreme bills (like SB-47), that would eliminate Same Day Registration, slice a week off Early Voting, end straight-ticket voting and eliminate successful public financing programs. Meanwhile, redistricting of voting districts is underway and the stakes are huge! We can’t stop now.
It’s time to take a stand for democracy! Join us in Raleigh July 13th
PLEASEwear RED to the rally. Why? Because we’re SEEING RED over these blatant attempts to suppress voter turnout in North Carolina!
