Chapel Hill candidates, Baker and Bell Qualify for Voter-Owned Elections

A great piece in the New & Observer discussing the candidates who qualified for Chapel Hill's Voter-Owned Elections program:

CHAPEL HILL -- Chapel Hill Town Council candidates Jason Baker and Donna Bell have garnered enough qualifying contributions to get public grants from the town's Voter Owned Election program.

Candidates were required to submit reports to the State Board of Election Oct. 21 detailing the contributions they raised in order to participate in the program.

To qualify for a $3,351 public grant through VOE, each candidate must raise at least $838 from at least 83 Chapel Hill residents in amounts between $5 and $20.
